Debbie Burke - Producer/Writer
Since the time she was a wee tot, Debbie would wander the
wild woods of northern Ontario armed with only a Polaroid
black and white instamatic camera and a GE audio cassette
recorder. By marring the two technologies together, she created
her first pictures with sound.
Then, one day, at about the age of ten, while chasing a wild
rabbit through the underbrush, trying to get a better angle,
she was confronted by "beings" from another world.
These "aliens" we'll call them, took her aboard
their "craft" and gave her a glimpse into the future.
A future where digital technology and convergence was just
the tip of the iceberg. "Follow your dreams", the
"aliens" said, and "you will have a long and
lucrative career".
After a ten-year struggle, the first obstacle was overcome.
She had mastered the game of pong.
Now, she could enroll in Mohawk College. Just a few years
later, she graduated with honors from the broadcast-journalism
program. As the technology improved, so did the story telling.
And, Debbie has been weaving tales ever since for both broadcast
and industrial applications.
As for the lucrative part
Well that's what you get
for listening to aliens.
