Fred Hill - 1928 to 1986
It was in 1948 that Fred Hill started an independent service and sales business in Hamilton, HILL Television and Radio Limited. It was this start, that would lead to the creation of Hill's Production Services, the self-proclaimed, "Largest Independent Teleproduction facility west of Toronto." In addition to this Hill's is a regionally recognizable name for retail television, audio, air conditioning and professional equipment sales in the Hamilton-Burlington, Ontario area.

His love of television and communicating to others led him from a service and retailing environment to production of both film and video.

In 1954, he received recognition from RCA Victor for, "The world's first order for a compatible colour television receiver."

By 1968, Fred received his Professional Motion Picture Producers' Certificate and started HILLCO Film Productions. During this time he traveled to many locations around the world producing travelogues and archiving dealer incentives for the marketing purposes of companies like Carrier of Canada and RCA.

During 1973, the bold step was taken to set-up a permanent studio facility in Burlington, at 2440 Industrial Street, where it still thrives 25 years later. It was a humble start, shooting test commercials for advertising agencies leading to a steady growth through word-of-mouth customers. The mobile and studio facilities of Hill's Production Services offer a world-class appeal to numerous corporations, sports leagues and broadcasters. All thanks to the vision of Fred Hill.

The ability to ride the leading edge of technology nearly half a century ago was not Fred's only asset. He quite eagerly gave back to the community. Many dedicated hours were given to the Cancer Society, YMCA, Association for the Mentally Retarded and the Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore. His example of mixing service in business and the community is still evident at Hill's Production Services today.
